Join Yoga Corner Founder Amy Leonard-King for an intimate, practical and transformative 2 part mentorship program, designed to take you from Yoga TT graduate to leading Yoga classes with confidence and true authenticity.
After completing the initial qualification, oftentimes we don't feel quite ready or well-equipped enough to put everything together and make a career out of teaching Yoga, or even ready enough to teach a public class, and with good reason - it is a huge responsibility! If you have a qualification to teach Yoga, but are feeling like you need some more hands-on guidance, mentoring from an experienced teacher and feedback to guide you in your craft, this program will offer you skills and guidance in the practical aspects of teaching Yoga classes to allow you to share these teachings from your unique and individual experience.

Whether you are hoping to gain the confidence to put together your own classes, or hoping to take yourself into place where teaching Yoga becomes your next career path, Amy's experience in all these areas will be available to you in this intimate and unique program.
Each week will begin with a lecture, discussion and question time on the specific topic area. Following this the group will practice Amy's 75 minute Jivamukti Yoga class (9:30am-10:45am) together, and will then reconvene for putting things into practice, hands-on teaching and constructive individualised feedback opportunities.
WEEK #1 (22ND APRIL): FINDING YOUR AUTHENTIC VOICE + TEACHING WITH PURPOSE (Part 1)
WEEK #2 (13TH MAY): FINDING YOUR AUTHENTIC VOICE + TEACHING WITH PURPOSE (Part 2)
These first two sessions will focus on finding your unique teaching voice, learning how to teach from a place of authenticity and truthfulness, and how this can be the most effective and inspirational way to share your passion for yoga with your students.
WEEK #3 (27TH MAY): TEACHING MIXED LEVEL CLASSES
In our modern day it is common to have a range of levels of experience show up in the same class. This can range from having experienced Yogis mixed in with complete beginners, to having some injuries or other conditions such as pregnancy to manage also. Learn how to teach mixed level classes keeping a safe environment, and also offering inspiration and opportunity to all students equally.
WEEK #4 (19TH AUGUST): BUILDING THE LAYERS OF TEACHING AN EFFECTIVE + COMPLETE CLASS
If you've ever attempted to teach a Yoga class, you'll know that it is a multi-faceted art form, and can be a huge challenge to deliver everything you wish to share. Learn practical skills with Amy to be able to sequence your classes effectively, build multiple layers into your teaching, and ultimately offer your students the fullest experience in their practice.
WEEK #5 (26TH AUGUST): ALIGNMENT + HANDS ON ASSISTS
Amy's approach to alignment is that every body is unique, and thus alignment and hands on assists require fine-tuning your eye for observing individual bodies and the way they move, guiding alignment from a mix of verbal cues, demonstration and hands on assists.
WEEK #6 (2ND SEPTEMBER): ETHICS + STAYING GROUNDED IN THE ANCIENT ROOTS OF YOGA
The practices of Yoga are ancient and sacred, and it is up to us to continue the tradition by passing on teachings in an authentic and meaningful way. Learn how to build philosophy into your classes that can be both grounded in yogic origins, and also accessible to your students living their modern day lives.
