NEW TO YOGA, OR VISITING US FOR THE FIRST TIME?

WE UNDERSTAND IT'S LIKELY YOU'LL HAVE SOME QUESTIONS, SO WE'VE DONE OUR BEST TO ANSWER SOME OF THEM HERE...

  1. DO YOU HAVE SHOWERS? Yes we certainly do! You can shower on-site straight after your practice and leave feeling even fresher than after your practice!

  2. TOWEL HIRE? You'll need a towel in any of our Hot Yoga classes. It's up to you whether you bring your own or rent one at the studio for $2.

  3. DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN YOGA MAT? Yoga Mats are provided as complimentary, so there's no need to bring your own, although you are most welcome to if it feels more like hOMe to you to do so.

  4. WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? Feel free to wear whatever you feel most comfortable moving in. Light-weight, stretchy clothing is recommended. Girls will usually wear shorts or leggings with a top and guys wear shorts with or without a t-shirt. No shoes or socks required - practice is barefoot. Be comfortable, and make sure you are free to move, it's definitely doesn’t have to be a fashion show ;)

  5. DO I NEED TO BOOK ONLINE? We have the facility to book classes online, however it's not necessary for every class. We encourage you to arrive at least 15 minutes before the class you’d like to join if you haven't booked ahead, and at least 5 minutes early even if you have. If attending our 5:30pm sessions we encourage online bookings as these tend to fill up most quickly. Please take note that we lock the doors for security while classes are on, and so if you're arriving late, you’ll most likely miss out.

  6. WHAT SHOULD I EAT OR DRINK BEFORE ATTENDING A HOT YOGA CLASS? The recommended choice is to not eat any large meals up to 2 hours before practicing Yoga. Refuelling your body after the class is a much better way to go. If you're practicing Hot Yoga especially, we encourage you to drink plenty of water up to 15 minutes before the class, and again afterwards as much as you need to feel hydrated and balanced. Drinking during your practice might make you feel more comfortable, but won't necessarily benefit your experience.

  7. I'M NEW - WHAT CLASS SHOULD I ATTEND FIRST? We offer a range of styles of Yoga at the studio, and understand that in the beginning it can seem rather daunting to know where to start. In reading through our class descriptions you should get an idea as to what to expect in each class, and ultimately it's up to you! We invite every level of practitioner into every class at Yoga Corner, but encourage complete beginners to start off with either a Hot Align or Hatha class if looking for a more dynamic style of Yoga, or a Yin + Meditation class for a more restorative, passive style that is slow-paced and gives lots of time for personal attention.

We look forward to seeing you soon at the studio, and of course if you have any further questions, please feel free to be in touch.

Namaste xx
