CLASS STYLES
Our classes are open to all levels of experience. If you're looking for something in particular, the class descriptions below might help you choose the right practice for you today. We look forward to seeing you soon, and welcoming you into our space with the friendliest team of yoga teachers in Melbourne (if we do say so 😉).
VINYASA FLOW (30C)
Practiced with the studio heated to 30C using our state of the art far infra-red heating, our Warm Slow Flow classes are strong, steady and explorative. The steady pace makes this practice available for all ‘levels’ of experience, and the added heat (tapas) adds an intensity to your practice allowing a depth to be realised for even the most advanced practitioner.
Expect steady, conscious movement bringing focus to the mind, body and breath, explorative and expansive sequencing and moving into true present-moment awareness.
VINYASA flow
Vinyasa Flow is a dynamic practice that encourages you to find a connection between your body and breath as a means to becoming more present and fully connected.
Classes vary in pace between a more flowing, ‘breath-guided-movement’ feel, to sometimes a slower, more embodied experience. Working closely with the breath and movement will regardless help you move towards an experience of what it means to be in 'flow’, truly present - and in yogic terms - the only place where life truly exists.
CANDLELIT YIN / RESTORE
Combining the well-known practices of Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga, this class is designed as a full nervous system reset, and is the antidote for stressful, fast-paced, modern life.
Yin Yoga is a slow paced, passive practice which works in combination with Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory. It involves longer held supported poses which encourage both creating space as well as beneficial compression in the 'yin' tissues of the body - ligaments, joints and fascia.
Restorative Yoga is a practice which encourages a mindful awareness of the body, breath and being present, with an intention to allow for deep rest and healing in all layers of our being.
MORNING FLOW (30C)
Start your day with conscious movement, breath and mindfulness in the cosy sanctuary of our heated studio.
Our Morning Flow (Heated 30C) classes are designed specifically with morning yoga practice in mind and the studio heated using our state of the art far infra-red heating panels.
The cosy warmth combined with a mindful movement brings focus to the body and breath, and a true sense of present-moment awareness. You'll head into your day with focus, presence and a sense of true steadiness and calm from within.
GENTLE FLOW
Our Gentle Flow classes seek to make yoga accessible to all. Enjoy finding a way to move gently, breathe and be fully in your body, without breaking a sweat. These classes will be guided specifically with invitations to go at your own pace and take modifications and variations as you need, all whilst listening inwards to cultivate connection, embodiment and healing.
This is a great class for those new to yoga, as well as anyone working with pregnancy, injuries or limitations. Bring yourself to the mat for a reconnection to your wholeness.
HATHA / FOUNDATIONS
Hatha Yoga speaks directly to the thousands year old wisdom tradition of yoga. Our Hatha / Foundations classes are a balanced combination of movement, breath and stillness, helping to expand awareness, enliven the body and focus the mind. Explore traditional asana (postures), breath-work (pranayama) and meditation, with a focus on the pranic (energetic) effect of the practices.
Join with any level of experience. This is a wonderful practice to both begin your journey with yoga, as well as move towards mastery of the subtleties as your practice travels deeper into all layers of your being.
JIVAMUKTI YOGA
Jivamukti Yoga is one of only 9 internationally recognised forms of Hatha Yoga. It’s known for its ethos ‘a path to enlightenment through compassion for all beings’ – compassionate living can not only transform our relationships with others, but lead us towards true liberation.
Explore this practice with Certified Jivamukti Teacher and the Founder of Yoga Corner, Amy Leonard-King, and expect an energetic and dynamic physical practice, as well as yogic philosophy, music + chanting, meditation, and inversion practice in every class.
