NEW TO YOGA CORNER, OR trying YOGA FOR THE FIRST TIME?

  1. DO I NEED TO BOOK ONLINE? It is preferable to book ahead online, in order to secure your spot in class, and so that we know to expect you. This will also help you to manage your ongoing bookings hassle free. You are also able to cancel or adjust your class booking online up to 2hrs before the class, without penalty. FOr more on late cancellations and no-shows please review our class cancellation policy.

  2. DO I NEED TO BE ON TIME? Yes, we lock up the studio at each class start time for safety and security reasons so you’ll need to arrive at least 5 minutes early in order not to miss out, giving you time to set up and settle in. We open the studio at least 15 minutes before each scheduled class, giving plenty of time for those who like to arrive early (highly recommended!).

  3. DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN YOGA MAT? Mats are complimentary provided in the studio, you are more than welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

  4. DO YOU HAVE CHANGING FACILITIES? Yes we have toilet and changing cubicles, however there are no showers in the studio.

  5. I'M NEW - WHAT CLASS SHOULD I ATTEND FIRST? We offer a range of styles of classes and understand that in the beginning it can seem daunting to know where to start. In reading through our class descriptions you should get an idea as to what to expect in each class, and from there it’s completely up to you.

We invite every level of student to try any class at Yoga Corner, but can suggest complete beginners to start off with either a Gentle Flow class if you are after a more active style of yoga, or a the Candlelit Yin / Restore class for a more restorative, meditative experience that is slow-paced and gives time for personalised attention.

  6. WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? Light-weight, stretchy clothing is recommended. No shoes or socks are required - as practice is barefoot. Be comfortable, and make sure you are free to move, it's less about how you look, and much more about how you feel ;)

  7. WHAT SHOULD I EAT OR DRINK BEFORE ATTENDING A YOGA CLASS? Our advice would be to not eat large meals up to 2 hours before practicing a yoga class. Refuelling your body after the class is a much better way to go. If you're practicing a heated class especially, we encourage you to drink plenty of water up to 15 minutes before the class, and again afterwards as much as you need to feel hydrated and replenished. Drinking during your practice might make you feel more comfortable, but won't necessarily benefit your experience, and of course you can bring your water bottle into class for that comfort.

We look forward to seeing you soon at the studio, and of course if you have any further questions, please feel free to be in touch via email: info@yogacorner.com.au
