NEW TO HOT YOGA, OR VISITING US FOR THE FIRST TIME?
IN ACCORDANCE WITH GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES, WE’VE UPDATED A FEW OF OUR STUDIO PROCESSES, HAVE A QUICK READ TO GET UP TO SPEED BELOW...
DO YOU HAVE SHOWERS? Yes we do, however they are currently not in service due to guidelines and restrictions in place in shared facilities.
TOWEL HIRE? You'll need a towel in any of our Hot Yoga classes. For the moment you’ll need to bring your own towel, and we’ll updated you when we are back in the process of hiring towels for $2.
DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN YOGA MAT? Yes, for now whilst the use of shared equipment is advised against, you’ll need to bring your own yoga mat to class. If you don’t have one, we have a range of yoga mats for purchase in our retail area at reception!
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? Feel free to wear whatever you feel most comfortable moving in. Light-weight, stretchy clothing is recommended. No shoes or socks required - as practice is barefoot. Be comfortable, and make sure you are free to move, it's less about how you look, and much more about how you feel ;)
DO I NEED TO BOOK ONLINE? Yes, booking online is important, as is cancelling out of a class if you’re no longer able to attend, Our cancellation period is 12hrs, and we have a waitlist system so that any keen yogis can fill the spots as they become available. We encourage you to arrive up to 15 minutes before the class, and at least 5 minutes early as we close the doors before class starts. We lock the doors while classes are on, and so if you're arriving late, you’ll most likely miss out.
WHAT SHOULD I EAT OR DRINK BEFORE ATTENDING A HOT YOGA CLASS? Our advice would be to not eat large meals up to 2 hours before practicing Yoga. Refuelling your body after the class is a much better way to go. If you're practicing Hot Yoga especially, we encourage you to drink plenty of water up to 15 minutes before the class, and again afterwards as much as you need to feel hydrated and replenished. Drinking during your practice might make you feel more comfortable, but won't necessarily benefit your experience, of course you can bring your water bottle into class if you so desire.
I'M NEW - WHAT CLASS SHOULD I ATTEND FIRST? We offer a range of styles of Yoga at the studio, and understand that in the beginning it can seem daunting to know where to start. In reading through our class descriptions you should get an idea as to what to expect in each class, and from there it’s ultimately up to you! We invite every level of practitioner into every class at Yoga Corner, but encourage complete beginners to start off with either a Hot Yoga Flow or Hatha class if looking for a more dynamic style of Yoga, or a Yin / Restore class for a more restorative, meditative style that is slow-paced and gives time for personalised attention.
We look forward to seeing you soon at the studio, and of course if you have any further questions, please feel free to be in touch via email: info@yogacorner.com.au
Namaste xx
