Yoga Corner are thrilled to announce U.S. teacher Levi Banner for an exclusive class on his first ever visit to Australia.Originally from Oregon (USA), Levi now lives in Bali and teaches at the Yoga Barn, Ubud. Levi’s offerings are diverse and versatile: from Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation, to Breathwork and Astrology. He aims to teach how to powerfully engage with practice and heal deeply throughout. With a sense of humour and deep spirituality, Levi travels globally offering workshops, teacher trainings and classes, guiding his students toward their brightest path and truest self.

What’s it all about…?

With Vinyasa Flow classes the latest offering on the YC schedule, we're giving you all the opportunity to explore this practice in a little more depth.

Out of the heat we explore turning upside down (think shoulder stand variations), and start balancing on our hands (think Bakasana - Crow Pose). Looks tricky, but it's just like riding a bike, once you find your balance, you'll learn to fly with ease.

With 2 teachers on hand - Amy and Fredrika - we'll create a safe space to explore and have a little fun on our mats, finding our flow linking breath with movement, and cultivating that inner strength that guides us to surprise ourselves, going beyond what we think we can achieve.

There will be time for Q&A and adjustments as well as perhaps perfecting that transition from Chaturanga into Upward Facing Dog that tends to fly by in class.

Want to turn your world upside down? Learn safe variations and extensions of postures you have begun trying in class? This workshop is for you....

Opportunities to try variations on arm balances, back bending and inversions that you may have started to see coming up in your Vinyasa Flow classes - Amy & Fredrika will be on hand to help you discover your inner teacher, and get past the hurdles that come up in class.

Join us for a 90 minute fun, explorative workshop which will lead on from the Vinyasa Essentials Workshop on the 29th of November, to give you the confidence and knowledge to take your practice to the next level.

After the success of our September 30 Day Challenge and such great enthusiasm for another one soon for those who missed out, we'll be hosting one more Challenge for 2014 - our December 21 Day Challenge.

Now 21 days might seem like a piece of cake but December is a month full of social events, wrapping up of the work and school year, and many a distraction and last minute party to attend. Compared to 30 days this may seem like a breeze, but this Challenge is not for the faint of heart, it will require great determination and commitment, and the rewards will be even more pleasing.

What a fantastic way to finish of the year on a high, ready to embark on the holiday season feeling fresh, full of energy and ready to allow yourself the odd indulgence or two without fearing it with a sense of dread as we so often do. 

We're looking forward to heading on this 21 Day journey with all who join us, and of course along the way there will be workshops, challenger meetings and of course a goody bag at the end for all who take this on.

This 75 minute workshop will give you an in-depth introduction to Yin Yoga and the benefits of this wonderful style of yoga. 

Yin yoga is a slow paced, balancing practise physically, mentally and energetically. We work with deep long holds in poses designed to encourage creating space in 'Yin' tissues -  including ligaments, joints and fascia. Yin yoga is a journey inwards, working with things we cannot see, and we endeavour to create a connection to and an understanding of subtle energies, enhancing the flow of 'chi' through the body. A beautiful complimentary practise to balance your Hot Yoga classes, come join us to slow down, chill out and counter our sometimes overly 'Yang' lifestyles with some Yin yoga at Yoga Corner.

Step into Spring with a Spring in your step and sign up to Yoga Corner's very first 30 day challenge. We're viewing this month-long yoga journey as more of a daily commitment to yourself than anything else, and we have several inspirational and motivating extras along the way:

  • 6 x yoga classes per week at the studio and 1 x self-practise yoga or meditation at home (doubles are fine with us to catch up if you miss a day!)
  • Introduction to Meditation on Monday 1st of September at 6:30pm. A special event for 30 Day Challengers only - learn how to drop-in and meditate on your own anywhere, anytime.
  • Yin Yoga with Amy on Sunday 7th September at 5:30pm to chill out and unwind after your first week of the Challenge
  • 2 x extra Yin Yoga classes added to the schedule each week - Thursday 12pm and Sunday 5:30pm (if you love them, they'll stay ongoing!)
  • Nutrition with James from Green Press (www.lovegreenpress.com.au) on Saturday 13th September at 10:30am to boost your awareness on what best fuels your body day and night.
  • Each extra session (meditation, yin, nutrition) that you attend counts as a class, so you'll start with a double on the very first Monday!
