It’s Smoothie Season and plant-based smoothie bowls have just gone up a notch in every way…
I don't know about you, but it has certainly shifted to smoothie season at my place, and what a relief! I have enjoyed a renewed inspiration of late for creating the perfect smoothie bowl, involving some incredible guidance from a wonderful plant-based nutritionist. Ingredients:
1/2 frozen ripe banana
3/4 cup frozen raspberries
2 tbs hemp powder (or other plant-based protein powder)
1 tbs almond butter (be generous!)
1 tbs cacao powder
3/4-1 cup chilled almond/coconut milk
cacao nibs, chia seeds and coconut flakes optional for fancy pic-worthy toppings!
Method:
Throw all the things into a blender or vessel for hand-held blender and mix on high until combined. For that ice-cream smoothie bowl consistency make sure your frozen fruits are really frozen and be mindful not to add too much liquid, bit by bit until all is blended. Pour into a bowl and grab a spoon to enjoy - it should keep you nice and full, nourished and revived for your morning!
