There is a yoga practice for everyone in every stage in their lives, and for every path they are walking on. It’s not always the same practice that serves us, nor the one we think we need…
If you have had any experience in your life that has resulted in burnout, overwhelm, sickness, anxiety/depression or deep-seated fatigue, then Restorative Yoga practices could be a way to support you in coming back into harmony in body, mind + spirit.
True healing can only take place when we are residing in the parasympathetic side of our autonomic nervous system, and for many of us, we’re not even getting there when we sleep at night. Yoga practices remind us that we are human ‘beings’ not human ‘doings’, and that we require time to be present and nurture ourselves on all levels, not just occasionally, but every single day.
This day immersion will help you develop skills in connecting with yourself to sense better when you are needing to slow down, nurture and rest, and will offer simple practices that you can walk away with and confidently implement into your daily life - without even needing to attend a yoga class. You’ll develop a surer sense of why frequent rest (in it’s many forms) is critical for your body and mind’s functioning, and how to apply brief yet powerful practices to bring you back into embodiment of the interconnectedness of your whole self.
This immersion is for anyone seeking ways to take their healing into their own hands, as well as yoga teachers who are looking to broaden the scope of their teachings through the practices and principles of Restorative Yoga.
What we’ll explore:
• Physical restorative practices to help relax and restore the deep core muscles of your body
• Fluid body awareness and practices
• Regulating the Nervous System
• Supporting Anxiety + depression through meditation + relaxation techniques
• Exploring + integrating awareness + connection with all parts of ourselves through the IFS therapy model
About Your Teacher - AMY LEONARD-KING
Amy’s journey with yoga expands over 2 decades and moved into the space of more restorative and healing practices after the birth of her first son, and the myriad of changes that that brought to her body and her life.
Having enjoyed more ‘active’ practices of yoga for many years (over a decade) and trained with yoga teachers from around the world in Hatha, Vinyasa, Jivamukti and more, Amy’s interests broadened as life experiences took her into seeking healing from pain, injuries and energetic imbalances.
After studying with and from leading teachers in the field of Restorative Yoga including Donna Farhi, Tara Judelle, Gena Kenny and Liz Koch, Amy has brought these teachings and practice into her daily life and her practice of yoga and through her own experience of healing is passionate about sharing and guiding others towards more balance, healing, connection and restoration in their lives.
