YOUR TEACHERS

AMY LEONARD-KING

Founder of Yoga Corner, Amy is passionate about sharing the practices of yoga with anyone willing to take a step onto the mat. Her own experience with the practice was a slow and curious evolution over 20+ years, and is now not only a daily practice, but touches every aspect of her life.

After completing her BCom at Melbourne University and working the corporate world for 5 years, Amy's wish to create a 'job' that was her passion and life's work lead to taking a 200hr Teacher Training whilst living abroad in London in 2011. She subsequently spent a couple of years travelling and studying under teachers from different yogic lineages including Hatha, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Anusara, Jivamukti, Yin and Restorative Yoga both at home and abroad. Yoga Corner was the first boutique Hot Yoga studio in the Melbourne CBD which Amy opened in 2014, a dream realised which was several years in the making. The studio is based in Amy's personal experience of seeking refuge from the fast-pace of corporate life, and is an oasis for people to come to reconnect with their true self.

Amy is humbled and inspired by the opportunity to share her love and joy of the path of yoga, and more than exploring the physical practice in her classes and linking awareness to being present via the breath, Amy has always been inspired to share the deeper yogic philosophy and ancient teachings that take us to a more profound and subtle understanding of who we really are, and which can support us in every aspect of our lives.

EMILY SPURLING

Emily Spurling is a Yoga teacher and Holistic Health Coach who is passionate about empowering people with holistic, scientifically proven, wellbeing strategies via her coaching sessions, yoga classes, workshops, retreats, and online content designed to help others find health and happiness.

Emily's laid back and inclusive approach resonates with first time students and advanced yogis alike. Emily has been recognised as an industry expert and can be found on Gaia alongside other wellness exerts such as Deepak Chopra and Jamie Oliver.

Emily is an eternal student of yoga globally and is formally trained in Hatha and Vinyasa flow, she has beautifully combined these styles to create her own much loved yoga experience. This 'fusion' style is the perfect blend of light and shade, one flow will have you generating heat and building lean muscle and the next you will be blissing out in a slow, opening restorative sequence.

Emily is drawn to yoga and meditation as a way to become fully present and 'show up' as the best version of herself in all areas of life. “We are all expected to wear so many different 'hats' every day, as a mother of two beautiful children, a wife, entrepreneur and teacher, to name a few, it can be really confusing and challenging to stay grounded, positive and on my path. If we are not living in the moment then we're not showing up, Yoga and meditation are my secret weapon and it is my pleasure to share this gift with you.”

RETREAT Itinerary

Day 1

Check in from 3pm

4:30pm – 6:30pm Welcome Circle & Restorative Yoga with Emily

6:30pm – A relaxed plant based, Ayurvedic dinner showcasing the best fresh, seasonal and local produce.

8pm - Evening Ayurvedic Self Massage Ritual and Meditation to prepare you for an evening of deep rest.

Day 2

7am – 8am Yoga, Meditation and Breathwork with Amy

10am Restorative Yoga + Sound Healing with Amy

AIRPORT TRANSFERS

If you are flying in from interstate, there are two options – you can fly to Brisbane Airport and then travel up to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland (1.5 hours drive) or fly to Maroochydore Airport (50 min drive). Guests can cancel 60+ days from event start date with no penalty. Any cancellations made 60 – 0 days prior to arrival; 100% cancellation fee applies. For any guests whose travel is affected by COVID-19 as a result of Government imposed restrictions, the retreat package value will be placed into credit for use on any Karma Being Retreat over a 12 month period.
